Cabby Gets Shot

So imagine... You are a cabby, you get a call at 5am to pick a customer up to take them to work. The customer lives by Balata camp, which you know is under curfew now, and soldiers are in the vicinity, 2 are already dead in Balata. So since your customer isn't IN Balata, you accept and drive over there... Its still dark out and you notice on the road that there is an Israeli hummer, so you KNOW the road is closed, so you don't bring too much attention to yourself, you turn the lights off and make a u-turn to go home. You're on the phone with the customer to tell them that you can't enter that part of the city because the soldiers have blocked the road and you are going back ho ---- As you feel a sudden pressure in the lower part of your head and hear more gun shots and another bullet enters you in the shoulder. Actually, I now know that exactly 40 more shots were fired.

((NEWS FLASH - I just got news that there was an explosion in Balata, and 4 peramedics have been shot and are injured, I will update as soon as I can))

Ok, back to the cabby, who happens to be a close friend of my families, and is like 60 years old!!

He is living though, my brother just got back from the hospital and he is gonna make it, they can't take the bullet out of his shoulder though, it could be to risky of an opperation for him. Oh, and after he was shot and the Israeli soldiers went to see what was up, they realized he was an innocent old man and called the ambulence straight away -- so sweet of them!

((ROLLS EYES))

I mean the man was driving AWAY, not towards them, he wasn't a risk.... He just knew because this happens all the time, that when you get too close they get on their loud speaker and say "GET BACK GET BACK" so you gotta turn around anyway, I guess he looked "suspicious" when he turned his lights off...

NOTE TO SELF - Do not leave your house when soldiers are ANYWHERE in the city... because they could pop up anywhere and if you look suspicious you will be shot.

Agreed... it's tragic. How many times, however, have Israeli soldiers been targetted by car bombs? Why would he shut his lights off -- seems like that would be somewhat suspicious. Given that you know this driver, the answers to the following questions may be obvious to you, but think about them honestly. Is he trying to avoid being seen? Is he smuggling something/someone? Is he planning on approaching with a bomb from another angle, and doesn't want to be seen? What's he hiding? I think in this situation, suspicion is fully justified. Without knowing more about what exactly happened, I can't say if shooting is (especially if he's heading away) -- but if was supposed to be stopping (again, without knowing what (if anything) was said, it's hard to know), and instead he decided to turn off his lights and pull away -- that sounds suspicious to me. Just a thought. (Yes, I realize you wrote the same thing in your post -- but I decided to try posting it without all the sarcasm.)

How exactly do you fault the response after the incident? As soon as they decided he was not a threat, they went in closer to check on his condition. When it was clear that he was injured, and no danger to them, prompt medical care was requested. What should've happened? It's not like the soldiers tried lynching the guy for driving on the wrong road...

you are very right Lucy, 40 shots is very excessive. Even if they felt threatened, he was not pointing a gun at them & was driving away!!! Unbelievable!!!! Why didn't they shoot his tires out if they felt threatened????

Lucy, if they thought he was turning off his lights to run away and try to attack from another location, they were shooting to disable. Under those circumstances you continue shooting until that succeeds -- obviously they were aiming at the tires because otherwise 40 shots and the driver would be swiss cheese, not a live person with a bullet in his shoulder.

It's not a good idea to drive into a scene where terrorists are being arrested.

Shoot first, use rationality later...sick, it is truly sick. You know, if the Palestinians got uniforms, would they be considered legit instead of terrorists by those like Beacon of Vengeance? Why is it that just because the Israelis have uniforms they are NOT considered terrorists?

very sorry to hear about your friend, and sorry to see the comments of those who seem to have no compassion or sympathy for a 60 year old cabby. my wishes for a quick recovery!

Israel symapathizers don't get me started...

One Jewish dude dies in France, Jacque Chirac himself goes to his funeral...

they turn it into Anti-Semetism, Holocaust supportive murder.

When a freaking 70 year old or a baby gets shot point blank in the face...u only hear about it in a personal blog.

Pisses me off....

Jews around the world, enjoy those moments of world sympathy..because nothing lasts forever..and your actions are fueling a kind of hate and rage that you have never seen in your entire 2000 or so miserable years..

Every dog has his day, they say...right?

God bless every innocent victims' soul.

Yes, every dog has its day - and so the Pally's should enjoy this temporary sympathy they get from the world, because you dogs are going to be spayed and neutered once the S*** hits the fan.

SR - good point. Seems that sniper fire on a 2-month old baby by Muslims is an acceptable form of freedom fighting.

Let's face it, everyone knows that if all the Jews left Israel tomorrow and the Pally's came in all that would happen is that they'd turn it all into a big refugee camp garbage heap. let's face it, just becaue you claim to have no money doesn't mean that your homes and towns have to look like the rubbish squalor that they do. You just do it on purpose as another sympathy play, phony-baloney liars that you are. Getting Israel just means that when you celebrate more women would get beaten and raped as is your practice and culture, men would force sex upon boys as happens every day in your culture, drug use would continue, corruption would only get bigger, you'd still have all your money stolen by the politicians, and basically you would continue to fail miserably as a group, since you have no direction, no morals and no reality to your miserable existence anyway.

Gee, time for a cup of tea...

There is a special cyber center in Florida where the American Zionist trolls post lists of pro palestinian blogs, then parcel out who will be the hate filled troll on which ones. Don't let it get you down, Princess.

Rowan,
I hate to burst your bubble... but no one really cares. You're not the victim of some vast right wing conspiracy. You're not that important to the ZOG.

It isn't me that is being trolled, it's this blog, and every other pro-Palestinian blog I am aware of. Trolling is a pretty time consuming exercise, you aren't going to convert anyone by doing it, so it must be a systematic Zionist effort to be a nuisance. Maybe you do it to maintain your own morale, or maybe you are labouring under the delusion that you can wear people down by endless insults, but either way you must think it is worth spending hours doing it.

Rowan,
I think that convert is a verb usually associated with religions other than Judaism (and historicaly, tended to be followed by the words "or die"). How many hours did you spend tracking down our top secret cyber center? I guess it's time to move out of Florida (although I'm not sure why a "cyber center" needs a physical location, except as a place to host a server).

Besides, our membership is open to any Anti-Palestinian Zionist trolls. One does not need to be American to join our ranks. We do, of course, receive funding from the Zionist government (aren't American tax dollars great?).

I wonder if you'll believe I have a tail... or horns.

Adolf berkeley is the one being followed. We all have devices to track him.

He is being hounded because he is a holocaust denier and advocates a new genocide.

While he has every right to breathe and vomit his hatred, we have every right to track his ass and make sure he does not vomit in comfort.

By the way princess, you didn't say anything about ODM's rant. Why not? It wasn't super rude? You'd love to meet him?
